Scottsville, KY – Jeffrey Scott Witt, a beloved member of the Scottsville community and a former building contractor, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the age of 65. He died at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, leaving behind a legacy of service and family.
Born in Indianapolis, IN, Jeffrey was the son of the late Aubrey Wilson “Dick” Witt and Dorothy Priscilla Buchanan Witt. He was not only a passionate contractor but also a proud veteran who served his country in the U.S. Army. Jeffrey is survived by his companion Hope Dill and her daughter Emily, both from Scottsville. He also leaves behind a son, Josh Witt, married to Elizabeth, and a daughter, Meggan Oberg, married to Robert, who reside in Bowling Green, KY.
In addition to his immediate family, Jeffrey is survived by five grandchildren: Rebecca Oberg, Mycle Thomas, Autumn Witt, Jacob Witt, and Lillian Witt. He had two brothers, Joe Witt and Dwight Witt, and three sisters: Lisa Guerrero, Janie Davis, and Jackie Headlee. His family includes several nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom were touched by his generous spirit. Jeffrey was preceded in death by a daughter, Brianna Witt, as well as two brothers and two sisters: Mike Witt, Charles Witt, Phyllis Bridges, and Ann Deal.
Funeral services for Jeffrey Witt are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Bro. Ron Wells. Following the funeral, Jeffrey will be laid to rest in New Bethel Baptist Cemetery, where military honors will be provided by Glasgow DAV Chapter 20.
Visitation will take place at Goad Funeral Home, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday and continuing until the time of the funeral. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during this time of remembrance.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations for funeral expenses directly to Goad Funeral Home. This gesture will assist the family in honoring Jeffrey’s memory during this difficult time.
Jeffrey Scott Witt will be remembered for his dedication to family, service to his country, and contributions to the construction industry. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, and his legacy will continue through his children and grandchildren.
